This is done by pouring molten iron into a molding box made of quartz sand, which is mixed with resin and hardener to achieve the necessary strength. Linde was looking for a more cost-effective alternative to the existing solution, in which the required protective layer between the sand and the molten iron was applied manually in the form of an alcohol-based wash.</p>
