This is the eighth step in the reproduction process I use for making my jewelry. I have removed all of the investment (mold compound) from the sprue tree with a pick and a brush. The assemble was placed in an acid bath known as “Pickle” after the video to remove the black fire scale before sawing, filing, sanding and polishing. Pickle pots cost about $150.00, I use a $5.00 Crock pot. (exactly the same except pickle pots aren’t adjustable temp like my $5.00 crock pot. :-p)

This is the fourth step in the reproduction process I use for making my jewelry. Here I have mixed up the mold compound and pour it in over the sprue trees. After the video stops, the molds are degassed in my Vacuum machine. I allow them to “boil” for 30 seconds usually before releasing the Vacuum. This insures there are no bubbles on the mold and that the fine details are transferred.

This is the seventh step in the reproduction process I use for making my jewelry. After the metal has cooled to about 900F the mold is broken by dunking it in cold water. This is probably my favorite part.
