(World of Warcraft) Feral Druid DPS Question gems for Weapon?
Okay, I would ask Elitist Jerks, but I’m muted for a day and figured I would ask here.
( Please only nerds =)
So, I’m a feral druid kitty. I have no problems with anything else, top of the dps charts all that jazz. But I have a question.
I have the staff : Distant Land, It’s a great feral staff and has 2 sockets in it.
Now as a feral I have the talent : Predatory Strikes 3/3
Increases your melee attack power in Cat, Bear and Dire Bear Forms by 150% of your level and 20% of any attack power on your equipped weapon. In addition, your finishing moves have a 20% chance per combo point to make your next Nature spell with a base casting time less than 10 sec. become an instant cast spell.
Let’s say I put 2x 40 Attack Power gems into that, or 2x 68 Attack Power gems in the staff ( JC gems ) would the game recognize the extra attack power in the staff and increase the attack power due to the talent? And if so, is it a better investment than putting Agility gems/ Arp ( Although assuming I’m hard capped on Arp )?
No one probably has a answer, I will probably have to wait for Elitist Jerks to let me post lawl. I could test this out in-game, but before I spend a few hundred gold I just wanna be sure.
Edit: Or someone can post this on Elitist Jerks Druid forum for me? I just made an account today to ask the question that’s why I can’t post yet.
AFAIK, the gems on the staff would feed your AP, which would then get converted by Predatory Strikes. So, that part should be okay.
As for the better investment? Depends, I’d say – if you’re just doing PvE high-end DPS, then probably. Otherwise, I’d tend to favor the straight agility for the dodge bonuses that come in as well, but I know that some folks still aim for the AP. Elitist Jerks might be a better place for a more hard-and-fast answer on the second half.
