It’s called Cast in Bronze. All the music is played by one man in a Carillon. It has albums, but I guess it isn’t popular enough to be on normal sites, like Btjunkie. So, can anyone possibly help me?

I can’t find it on any torrent sites either.
You might have to fork out the cash, my friend.

I model small sculptures for lost-wax casting in bronze, using soldering irons, dental tools, etc. These can leave small surface "trickles" or blemishes where I want smooth surfaces to represent skin.

One option is to smooth with baby oil – it acts like a mild solvent
After smoothing, the piece needs to be coated with dish washing soap then rinsed off other wise the investment may have a problem

Sometimes a propane torch using it will make the wax melt and smooth – this can go too far and damage your work and generate fumes

Also try heating the tools a few seconds with the torch – traditionally some people use an alcohol lamp to heat wax tools

There are tools for working in wax

wont it crack if i pour molten bronze?

Yes it will crack.
You may be able to get away with reinforced plaster – a mix of 50% silica flour 50% plaster.
The problem is that the mold has to be preheated before pouring and the temperature required is above the one that drives off the chemical water of plaster setting, thus weakening the mold.
Investment is a special mix of stuff intended for lost wax casting involving several steps of heating. It holds detail very well.
None of the plaster like mixes is very strong at the casting point and has to be contained to keep it from cracking open – with a metal tube or sand reinforcement.
for my rather low level work start here http://www.mikegigi.com/castgobl.htm

I have a Frederic Remington "Rattlesnake," 24 inches high, in the family about 30 years. I know it was referred to as a "second strike" from the mold, but don’t know what that entails.

Bronze castings are made by lost wax techniques. The wax can be made from a mold made from the original model sculpted by the artist or the mold can be made from a previous bronze. Further, once the wax is made, it has to be worked over in detail, by the artist if living or by people hired to do it. I believe your second strike is castings made from the wax from the mold after the first and best were made, but not from a copy of an existing statue.
If you would like to confirm this, contact the Amon Carter Museum in Ft. Worth which has holdings of a number of Remington’s and has displayed side by side the various versions

I’m new to bronze casting. I finished my piece yesterday and chiseled most of the ceramic shell off, but it’s a very delicate, detailed piece and there’s ceramic stuck in the little crevices. I don’t want to sand-blast it because of the detail. What if I soaked it in water and used a toothbrush to clean it off? Would that work? Advice appreciated!

you definitely can soak it in water, it won’t harm the bronze.

Unless you are working with jewelry detail sandblasting shouldn’t really affect your detail that much. Yes, it will pit the bronze slightly, but unless your detail is minute it still should be much larger than any pitting from the sand blasting. Usually you would sandblast before patination anyway to remove even small surface impurities. The main reason no to sandblast would be if you want a shiny surface.

If you have access to a pressure washer that might be your best option. A pressure washer cleans your bronze nicely and much faster than with any toothbrush. It also won’t damage anything unless you would have structure which are fragile enough that you could bend them with your finger.

If you want it for jewelry see whether you can buy some from Rio Grande or another jewelry supplier. If you want to do metal casting you hopefully are taking a class and your teacher will know where you can buy some. If the town is larger you could check if a foundry is willing to sell you some or a company which recycles metal and makes metal ingots. Though only a few will be willing. Or you buy it from a place like Atlas metal.
