    Check what kind of …
Check what kind of mites are. The white and brown mites don’t harm the worms however if you do this as bussiness it will cost you time and resources due they compite for food and oxygen. Now, the red mites are parasitic, they attach to the worms and eggs to suck their fluids. If you have high mites populations it means is too wet or overfed. To get rid of them low the moist level and place moistened newspaper on top, the mites will go there, then remove the paper and repeat the process.Saludos

Thanks man, this video”As the worms turn”, but she sais that you can keep fruit flies under control by placing beer in a jar, covering it with a plasitc bag, and cutting a small hole in the corner in a way that the flies can get inside, but can’t get out.
when I have fruit flies, I cover everithing with dry leaves, but I’ve even had the fly larvae in my bin, don’t like that at all, so I left the bin to get drier, and what you say is true, the worm population grows, greetings from Mexico

the mites and acarus are a natural part of the decomposition and there is no need to worry about them. i keep my worm bin outside because sometimes when i open it i will have fruit flys. the mites will eventually die off. you may have too much moisture in your bin. if you keep your bin a little drier it will incurage reproduction and a larger worm population.
