Model comp cards, what to take to castings, auditions and interviews?

Do I need ‘comp cards’ to be a professional model?
I have modelled in a few photoshoots, but now I am starting to earn money from freelance modelling.
Do I need actually need comp cards?
I am building my portfolio, which I obviously need to send to potential employers, but also, when applying to agencies, do I need to send comp cards?
Also, what else would I need to take to interviews and castings?
Thanks

All you need to send in to an agency are a few photos – not comp cards. If you are doing freelance, it would be a good investment to get comp cards printed up – it’s a lot easier than sending out your portfolio which could get lost or take weeks to be sent back to you.
