How can I find out about movie castings?
Movies or television will do. Like how can I find out ahead of time about casting calls in upcoming movies? I always hear about a casting call at the last minute and then it’s too late to audition or set something up. All info is helpful, thank you.
There is a newspaper called Backstage that lists casting calls. You will need an 8×10 photo and a resume with your acting experience and education when you go on the audition.
There are also casting agencies that send actors on auditions. They keep a file of people based on appearance, skills and experience and will send out people that fit the needs of a particular role to audition.
You should really check out some books on working as an actor at the library or bookstore first, so you can show up at an audition prepared and don’t end up wasting your time.
