Remember that Brass is a rather soft material and most likely will not hold up well in the long furn. Stainless is very durable and used by most manufactures of gas grills.
Porcelain is fine but it can chip rather easily. Plain cast iron is durable but rusts easily and needs to be cleaned frequently.
It's your decision as to what you really want.
References :
Well I've never seen brass used on any hot part of the grill (only in the valves and mixing components that feed the burners).

Brass shouldn't be used for the grating because it would react readily with the acids in food and has a lower melting point. Might introduce contaminants into the food.

Porceline covered steel holds up well, as does stainless. Plated steel is used on the cheap ones, but doesn't last.
References :
never heard of brass for burners-stainless would be my choice-takes the repeated hot/cold temps and is not affected by moisture
porcelain covered cast iron grate is good
