Replaced the X lead screw for a ballscrew 20×05.
In this video you see the assembly off the x-axis.
And I’m casting a aluminum bracket for the ballnut

If all the aluminum is melted, i take all the dross off.
After that i put some caustic soda in there to get the last dross floating, and take that off.
After that i use some normal kitchen salt to degas the bath, don’t ask me how it works

Do you use something to keep the cast aluminum from getting air pockets, I don’t see pitting.

when im melting all the steel inside is red and yellow hot, and the aluminum melts in a few seconds, Just great to do it lol
