hi there, i’m looking to built a foundry/smelt capable of melting beer kegs in. it has to be fast and have a decent volume inside.

Any help or suggestions would be massively helpful….

Thank for your carying about my safety :) You are ABSOLUTELY right. Any one should NEVER put propane tank ON the flame. Tank can explode. I anderstand it and was VERY VERY careful. Second- about flame stability: propane/air mix burn in furnace volume and I think shape of tube does not matter.

    Hi, I’m impressed …
Hi, I’m impressed with how simple and effective your propane burner seems to be. You might get a more stable and symmetric flame with a round tube, but clearly your design works well! Nicely done!

It looks like you could improve your safety situation a bit. Am I seeing things or did you honestly put the propane tank on top of the furnace while it was running (at 6:17)? You might want to rethink that in the future if you want to live to cast another day.

    Cool video, thanks for sharing!

I use stainless steel crucible (not seen in video) and I plan use a new one made from steel tube seen behind the furnace. I pour crucible into tin of sutable dimensions.
